Realism Is Not His Bag.
“Art evokes the mystery without which the world would not exist.”
—Rene Magritte
This is a design for a new René Magritte exhibition is called The Mind’s Mirror.
Background
This is a design for a new René Magritte exhibition is called The Mind’s Mirror. Magritte was a surrealist, using patterns of animals or objects in different backgrounds that explored his inner heart. Magritte likes drawing mysterious meaningful paintings. The project presents Magritte’s work on a poster and a magazine and helps people understand this enigmatic artist.
Approach
I used his style to design the poster and magazine. Using the different myste- rious shapes of Magritte provides a glimpse into the mind of the artist. The idea of a mirror presents the logotype. Two black rectangles reflect colors of the name. Also, the black rectangles reflect the thoughts of the viewers when looking at Magritte’s artwork.
